Sri Lanka’s private and public sector companies joined forces to voice their stance against the United Nations Human Rights Commission’s resolution against alleged war crimes in Sri Lanka. Hundreds of representatives of the corporate sector of Sri Lanka staged a peaceful demonstration to state their united viewpoint against the resolution. During the proceedings a number of corporate personnel expressed their views against the resolution in tune with the growing chorus throughout the Island. Speaking at the occasion a member of the business community stated that all citizens of Sri Lanka are united in support of the Government of Sri Lanka at this juncture regardless of communal, religious or ethnic differences.
In line with the demonstration, the organised private sector re-affirmed that the business community will fully support the development and reconciliation activities that will be undertaken by the Government of Sri Lanka, where all communities could benefit from the sustainable peace that has been attained after the 30-year conflict.
