National Savings Bank (NSB) felicitated Danoj Theekshana Weerasekara, who obtained the highest marks in the Sinhala medium at the grade five scholarship examination 2026, under its Hapan Pranama Scholarship Program.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Harsha Cabral PC, Chairman, Rohana Bandara Weerakoon, Acting General Manager/CEO, and members of the Corporate Management.
Danoj, a student of Ahatuwewa Model Primary School in the Kurunegala district, secured first place in the Sinhala Medium with 193 marks. NSB recognized his achievement as a reflection of his dedication, supported by his family, teachers, and school community.
As part of its commitment to education, NSB conducts seminars annually to help students prepare for the grade five scholarship examination. More than 100 seminars were held islandwide this year, providing students with knowledge, guidance, and encouragement.
The Hapan Pranama Scholarship Program also recognizes students with special needs and those who faced difficulties and challenges while sitting the examination, acknowledging their courage and determination.
For over five decades, NSB has promoted savings among children while encouraging parents to invest in their education, abilities, aspirations, and future. NSB congratulated all students recognized under this year’s program.
