HNB has secured its place among Sri Lanka’s most valuable brands in the latest Brand Finance Sri Lanka 100 Report, recording a brand value of 25.4 billion rupees.
The ranking comes as banking continues to dominate the country’s top ten most valuable brands, with six banks represented. The sector accounts for 42 percent of the total value of this year’s ranking, worth 275 billion rupees and up 14 percent year on year.
Damith Pallewatte, Managing Director/CEO, HNB, said the recognition reflects the trust and confidence customers and the market place in the bank, its services, and its people. He noted that the ranking validates HNB’s customer-centric approach and its role in supporting economic recovery and expanding access to financial services.
Brand Finance evaluates brands using internationally recognized standards, assessing brand value and strength across marketing investment, stakeholder equity, and business performance.
The recognition follows strong financial results for HNB. Group profit after tax reached 49.8 billion rupees in 2025, while group assets increased 19.4 percent to 2.64 trillion rupees and loans exceeded 1.5 trillion rupees.
HNB’s extensive retail and SME footprint is supported by longstanding initiatives such as Gami Pubuduwa and HNB Sarusara, which promote entrepreneurship and agricultural modernization.
The bank also continues to strengthen its transaction banking and digital capabilities, serving over 6,000 corporate customers and maintaining relationships with more than 900 global correspondent banks, while supporting Sri Lankan corporates expanding into international markets.
