People’s Leasing and Finance has delivered its strongest financial performance to date for the financial year ended March 31, 2026, recording exceptional growth across profitability, assets, lending, deposits, and shareholder value, further reinforcing its position as one of Sri Lanka’s leading non-bank financial institutions. The Company reported a Profit Before Tax (PBT) of 8.56 billion rupees, while Profit After Tax (PAT) increased to 5.08 billion rupees, representing an impressive 41 percent year-on-year growth.
The outstanding performance was driven by strong business expansion, increased lending volumes, improved operational efficiency, and sustained customer confidence. Reflecting this momentum, total assets surged by more than 65 percent to 321.23 billion rupees, making People’s Leasing one of the fastest-growing financial institutions in the country during the year. The Loans and Receivables Portfolio expanded to 275.74 billion rupees, while customer deposits grew to 165.45 billion rupees, demonstrating growing public trust in the Company’s financial strength, service excellence, and long-term stability.
The Company also recorded significant growth in revenue, with Gross Income increasing to 43.99 billion rupees and Net Interest Income rising to 21.77 billion rupees, highlighting its ability to capitalize on market opportunities while maintaining prudent risk management practices. Financial fundamentals strengthened further during the year, with Return on Equity (ROE) improving to 11.30 percent, Earnings Per Share (EPS) increasing to 2.30 rupees, and Shareholders’ Funds growing to 47.53 billion rupees. The Company also maintained capital adequacy ratios comfortably above regulatory requirements, reflecting its strong financial resilience. Professor Ajantha Samarakoon, Chairman attributed the record performance to the Company’s clear strategic direction, disciplined governance, and commitment to creating sustainable long-term value.

He reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to expanding financial inclusion, strengthening digital capabilities, and delivering lasting value to customers, shareholders, and the nation.
Demonstrating its continued focus on innovation, People’s Leasing has introduced a next-generation AI-powered reporting experience in its FY2025/26 Annual Report. Building on last year’s digital initiatives, the report features WhatsApp-based access, AI-powered video and text chatbots, dynamic financial data visualizations, interactive QR codes, and multilingual video summaries in Sinhala, Tamil, and English. To promote inclusivity, the Company has also introduced sign language-enabled content and a Braille version of the Annual Report for visually impaired stakeholders.
