Colby Demac established a new cooperation partner, Allied Trading & Engineering (Pvt) Limited, in Sri Lanka for the distribution of its Storage and Materials Handling Systems.
According to CEO Rajah Abeyasinghe, the colby storage equipment product fits perfectly with their range of Hyster forklift trucks and combined, provide the Sri Lankan market with the world’s most comprehensive range of warehouse equipment.
Colby Demac have completed a number of projects in Sri Lanka for well-known companies such as Stassen Foods, Lanka Milk, Lanka Archives and most recently were awarded an order to supply pallet racking for BASF/Finlay.
Colby Demac was first established in 1967 by its present chairman and founder Gerry Hatton. Since that time the company has grown to a position where it dominates the Australian and Asian markets for Materials Handling Equipment and Systems.
In April 1997, the company was acquired by Mannesmann Demac of Germany.
Mannesmann Demac is the world’s largest supplier of Materials Handling Systems with an annual turnover approaching Australian $30 billion.
