Tri-star Apparel Exports (Pvt) Ltd., recently opened a plant which manufactures polybags for packing garments for export. This plant is a BOI-approved project and the newest subsidiary of K. K. Polyindustries. It was commissioned recently at the premises of Tri-star’s Washing Plant at the Biyagama Free Trade Zone(FTZ).
The plant will temporarily operate at the Biyagama FTZ until the permanent factory site at Malwatte Industrial Park, is completed. This plant has the capacity to produce 25,000 kilos of polybags a month and will be used exclusively to pack export items. Since, it is the only polybag manufacturing factory in the zone, it will service the orders of all the industries in the Biyagama FTZ, apart from servicing the orders of Tri- star’s factories.
