The SLT Training Centre opened a High Speed Internet (HSI) Lab at the Training Centre in Moratuwa. One of Sri Lanka Telecom’s (SLT) best labs, it has all the facilities which SLT members can make use of. It is set up to conduct training in Oracle, Linux, Broadband services, VoIP, ADSL, MySQL & PHP, CDMA CPE Programming, New Coinbox Programming, Internet and e-mail.
Shuhei Anan, CEO of SLT who opened the HSI along with B M Jinadasa, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for HR, UT C Perera, Head of Division for HR, M M P Perera, Head of Division for Data Network & Internet Protocol, N Baskaran, Head of Division for Training & Development, R M N S B Ratnayake, Head of Section, HR Planning, S P Undugodage, Head of Section for Internet Protocol & Broad Band, Training Centre staff of Moratuwa and engineers from the TTC/Welisara were also present at the event.
SLT also plans to expand its training program with the inclusion of DSL Deployment/WiMax Deployment training. The company is currently in the progress of opening a Research & Development and a NGN Lab this year with HSI links supported by SLT Broadband section.
