Emirates announced its plan to launch its new services to Copenhagen recently. Initially offering four flights a week, the service will increase to daily flights by the end of October 2006.
The flights to Denmark will be a gateway for business and leisure travelers to travel to Northern Europe. “We are extremely pleased to be able to offer our customers this new service to Copenhagen. Denmark is a perfect gateway for us into Scandinavia and the surrounding regions; Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed AI-Maktoum stated.
Emirates plans to operate an Airbus A330 – 200 aircraft on the route from Dubai International Airport to Copenhagen Airport. It will be configured in two classes with 27 seats in Business Class and 251 in Economy.
The service also plans on offering more than 14 tonnes of Cargo capacity per flight, which will increase Emirates offering to the region and will supplement the existing freight – only services to Gothenburg in Sweden.
The launch of Emirates services to Copenhagen will come at the end of an extremely busy year of expansion for the Dubai – based carrier.
This is Emirates’ first passenger service into Scandinavia.
