Sri Lanka’s continuous progress in encouraging reading among children impressed Hugo Setzer, President of the International Publishers Association (IPA).
Vijitha Yapa, President of the Sri Lanka Book Publishers As-sociation briefed him and Jose Borghino, Secretary General of the IPA at the AGM of the IPA in Frankfurt.
Vijitha Yapa said tremendous progress has been made in the program to encourage reading among children and Hugo Setzer was amazed to hear that nearly 3 million people had visited the Colombo International Book Fair in September. The IPA President said he looked forward to visiting Sri Lanka next April. The IPA has 81 organisations from 69 countries as members.
