The Suzuki Baleno Sedan, described as an upmarket, high quality, unique car, was launched last month by Brown and Co., the sole agents for Suzuki in Sri Lanka.
It is priced at Rs 993,000.
“It is an upmarket car, its original price was Rs 12 lakhs but after many negotiations we were able to get a discount on the yen and so it has been priced at Rs 993,000”, said Suraj Fernando, Managing Director, Brown & Co.
He said the car has been built in keeping with customer requirements and that it combined everything you could expect from a car of its class.
“It is compact, comfortable, safe and easy to drive.” They have been designed and fashioned with thick cushioning and spring mountings up front for added support and also to minimise the strain of long journeys.
Its windscreen wiper and indicator stalks are within fingertip reach and it is also amply equipped with power functions starting with power steering. Electronic windows and central door locking are added conveniences.
The car has also ample boot space and 3-point front seatbelts with height adjustors.
Fernando said Browns have been in the car business for over 40 years and that the agency for Suzuki was obtained in the early 80s.
He said the first few cars imported by them were snapped up and that ten more cars have been ordered.
