On the directive from President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge, an overall project costing Rs.10 billion, to develop Colombo Fort and Janadhipathi Mawatha and to repair the damage caused to buildings after the Central bank explosion will be launched soon.
The project which will be launched on a short, medium and long term basis will be completed by 1998. According to the Presidential Secretariat, this scheme will assist the private sector companies which were damaged by the bomb blast.
