People’s Leasing & Finance has demonstrated its ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility by donating waste segregation units to streamline waste segregation at Mirisawetiya Temple in Anuradhapura.
This initiative, part of the company’s CSR efforts, aims to promote environmental sustainability and cleanliness at these sacred sites.

Neil Thusantha, AGM – Branch Network; Susil Priyantha, Chief Manager of the Branch Network; Saranga Dissanayake, Branch Manager of the Anuradhapura Branch of PLC; and several other representatives from PLC Anuradhapura Branch, all of whom played a role in the successful execution of this initiative, were also presented at this event.
The project serves as another example of PLC’s commitment to creating a positive social impact and assisting in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The Chief Incumbent of the Mirisawetiya Temple, Rev.Welihene Sobhitha Thero, expressed his gratitude for the timely intervention and highlighted the importance of maintaining the sanctity of the sites. He noted that donating waste bins would go a long way in preserving the area’s environment while respecting these sacred sites’ cultural and religious significance.

This initiative originated due to a joint request made to Saranga Dissanayake, Branch Manager of PLCAnuradhapura Branch, by the Chief Incumbent of the Mirisawetiya Temple. The project aims to support protecting and preserving these sacred sites, ensuring they remain clean and pristine for future generations.
