
People’s Leasing and Finance, Sri Lanka’s premier non-bank financial institution and a subsidiary of People’s Bank, ceremonially welcomed the New Year 2026 under the theme “People’s Trust, Empowering People.”
The event was graced by the Chairman of People’s Leasing, Professor Ajanta Samarakoon, Chief Executive Officer/ General Manager Sanjeewa Bandaranayake, and members of the Senior Management. Blending tradition with technology, the celebration was broadcast live via the internal PEO TV Channel 603, enabling staff across the island to join the festivities simultaneously with the Head Office team.
Chairman Professor Ajanta Samarakoon highlighted the organization’s achievements and future direction, stating: “The milestones we reached in 2025 are a testament to what we can achieve when we work as one unified team. Organized by the PLC Welfare and Sports Club, the event fostered a strong sense of camaraderie, both physically and virtually, symbolizing unity across the organization.
The ceremony concluded with a collective pledge by senior management and staff to carry forward the spirit of empowerment in every customer interaction throughout 2026.
