People’s Bank’s ‘People’s Remittance Vaasi Kotiyai, Bonanza’ selected its June millionaire winner. The lucky winner was I.R Madusanka Jayaweera, who received his one million rupees prize from Nalinda Wijerathna, Consulate General of Sri Lanka – Dubai and Northern Emirates.
People’s Bank launched “People’s Remittance Vaasi kotiyayi” Draw in February 2022 to motivate Sri Lankan migrant workers who work tirelessly to strengthen the country’s economy.
Under this promotion, the Grand Draw winner selected at the year-end will b presented with a Grand Prize of 10 million rupees. Additionally, one million rupees monthly winner is chosen every month. 22K gold sovereign weekly winners and 10,000 rupees daily cash prize winners will be selected 48 times and 334 times, respectively, until December 31, 2022. All inward worker remittances sent through People’s Bank to People’s Bank accounts and other bank accounts are eligible for the draw. Further, the remittances collected over the counter at People’s Bank branches, including remittances sent via WU, Ria, or similar channels from February to December 31, 2022, are eligible for the draw.
Customers can also increase their chances of winning by remitting more money.
