Presenting Mini POS devices to a valued business customer of the Bank.
People’s Bank has launched its innovative Mini POS mer-chant payment solution to further financial inclusion and strengthen Sri Lanka’s digital economy.
The official launch, organized by the People’s Card Center in collaboration with the Liberty Plaza Branch, saw the ceremonial presentation of the first five Mini POS devices to selected business customers.
The Mini POS is a cost-effective, user-friendly tool designed specifically for SMEs and micro-merchants. It enables seamless acceptance of digital card payments. The solution reduces barriers for small businesses to embrace digital transactions by offering the lowest merchant discount rate, free installation, and comprehensive training from the Bank.
Promoting environmental sustainability, the Mini POS supports e-signatures and digital receipts, eliminating the need for paper. Merchants also benefit from next-day settlement of funds to their bank accounts, ensuring improved cash flow.
People’s Bank Deputy General Manager (Payments and Cards) Nilmini Premalal, Head of Cards, Jayanath Dias, Chief Manager (Card Centre) Vinodika Piries, Colombo South Regional Manager Harindani Abayawickrama, and Liberty Plaza Branch Manager Nilukshi Ramanayake joined Bank officials and customers to mark this milestone in the Bank’s digital journey.
