People’s Bank celebrated its 62nd Anniversary with a series of religious programs. Organized by the Bank’s Buddhist Association, Hindu Association, Muslim Majlis, and Christian Guild, the religious observances were held at People’s Bank Head Office premises amidst a large gathering of bank employees.
Accordingly, People’s Bank’s Buddhist Association organized an all-night Pirith Ceremony and an almsgiving for 62 Buddhist monks the next day. Hindu Association, Muslim Majlis, and the Christian Guild of People’s Bank al so conducted respective religious observances.
The religious programs were organized with the aim of invoking blessings to the country, its people, and customers, as well as the founders of People’s Bank. Sujeewa Rajapakse, Chairman, People’s Bank, and Clive Fonseka, Acting Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, Corporate and Executive Management of the Bank, the present and past staff members graced the occasion.
