Paper Moon Kudils was opened in unique style where little children from the Lakshmi Sana Samuha Nilayam together with the children of the staff and surrounding area were treated to a party. There were 54 children in total. The ceremonial opening was symbolised by the cutting of five cakes by the children and singing Happy Birthday to Paper Moon Kudils. The children’s party ended with the presenting of gifts. The highlight of the evening festivities was the 22.5 kg barbecued fish.
Paper Moon Kudils, an initiative of Whisky Point Resorts, was first formulated by Perumal Partheepan – Partner and Executive Director of the company. A resident of Urani himself, he envisaged an enterprise where employment and opportunity would be provided to the people of the area. The property of Sivabalan Sadasivam-who was the pioneer in providing accomodation to surfers and tourists in Whisky Point-was combined to form Paper Moon Kudils.
