Kids participating at the tree planting activities.
Pan Asia Bank celebrated World Environment Day by conducting tree-planting activities with students from selected schools and preschools at 30 locations. Over 1,500 trees were planted while educating the students about the importance of trees and how to plant and protect them. The engagement activity was a great learning experience for the students, who each received a tree to plant and care for. The Bank extended its gratitude to the school and preschool’s principals, teachers, and parents for providing it with the opportunity to conduct this meaningful campaign. As the ‘Truly Sri Lankan Bank’, Pan Asia Bank remains committed to protecting the rich biodiversity in the country. Buddhika Perera, the Chief Manager of Deposit Mobilization said, “Another objective along with the tree-planting initiative was inculcating the savings habit in children. Pan Asia Bank also offered account opening vouchers for participating students to open a Daskam Children’s Savings Account. This account provides a unique feature where the bank contributes 10 percent of every customer’s deposit. This additional contribution is provided on top of the annual interest earned, encouraging savings and financial literacy among children.”
