Metropolitan Computers and Acer Singapore launched the Acer Timeline series of notebook. With the new series Acer remains faithful to their mission of ‘Breaking barriers between people and technology’.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, CEO of Metropolitan Computers who represents Acer in Sri Lanka Niranjan De Silva said, “In Sri Lanka, Acer’s market share has been growing rapidly during the last few years, due to the superb range of products offered by us at a very aggressive price with the renowned after sales service that comes with it.”
The Aspire Timeline is available in two form factors, 13.3″ and 14″ , presenting bright, lifelike images through Acer CineCrystal LED backlit display with true 16:9 aspect ratio, 1366 X 768 HD resolution for clear media playback. Harnessing the latest Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Ultra Low Voltage solutions, the Aspire Timeline series comes with integrated Intel Graphics and is equipped with DDR3 system memory to breeze through multitasking requirements. Ample storage is provided by an HDD with up to 500 GB capacity. Acer Timeline supports built in Wi-Fi functionalities. The Acer Crystal Eye webcam provides video performance with enhanced Acer PrimaLite technology. Acer Backup Manager and Easy Launch Backup Key allow hassle free flexible data backup.
The Acer Timeline strikes a balance between computer lightness and battery life. This new product range offers a number of features that contribute to saving energy and provides more scope for additional performance.
Long Lasting Battery Life
The ultra thin notebook series provide eight-hour battery life. In addition the user can change the settings with the Smart Power Key to further enhance battery life with a boost of power saving capabilities.
Acer Comfy Touch Technology
In collaboration with Intel – Laminar Wall Jet Technology Acer developed a cooling technology to keep the temperature of the machine close to 6 degrees lower than the user’s skin temperature. This technology exploits the same technology that has been used successfully in cooling turbine blades. Through the addition of louvers to the intel vents, the cooling airflow is redirected along the bottom side of the notebook chassis, putting fresh air precisely where it is needed to better cool the skin.
Lightweight
Despite the added advantage of longer battery life the Aspire Timeline remains 24mm (less than one inch) at its thinnest point. It is not only ultra thin but also featherweight. Aided by the aluminum cover the weight range remains 1.6 kg for the 13. 3 model up to just 1.9 kg for the 14.
Energy efficiency
Energy efficiency is another key feature of the Aspire Timeline. It complies with the Energy Star 5.0 prerequisites, with the notebook performing efficiently even when using the power adapter. Further the timeline consumes 66% less energy than required by Energy Star. An added advantage is that the Power Smart adapter enters adaptive charging mode automatically when the battery is fully charged. Thus saving energy and reducing the tear and wear on the battery.
