Construction of the super structure of Marina Square project commenced with the selection of China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) as the main contractor of the project. CHEC has been actively involved in the development of Sri Lanka since 1998.
Sumal Perera, Chairman, Access Engineering said, “I thank our two multinational partners for their confidence shown in Sri Lanka and their trust to partner with Access Engineering in the Marina Square project. It is very seldom that part of a Fortune 500 enterprise such as China Harbour would partner with a national company for a project of such magnitude. In this aspect, we believe that we have set the benchmark for other Sri Lankan companies, whichever the industry they maybe, to encourage their foreign partners to invest with the companies in Sri Lanka.”
The Marina Square project is a multinational real estate investment. Access Engineering of Sri Lanka, the China Harbour Engineering Company of China and Mustafa of Singapore have come together to present this Harbour front, ocean view residential development.
Zang Xiaoqiang, Managing Director, China Harbour Engineering Company said, “We are very happy to be selected as the main contractor of the Marina Square project. We believe that our vast experience in successfully completing many of Sri Lanka’s mega projects, helped us to be selected as the main contractor of Marina Square project. Most importantly it was CHEC’s successful completion of Shangri-La Residencies and our involvement in the Havelock City development that gave us an edge over the competition.” Marina Square will have over two acres of landscaped walking/jogging tracks, garden pool, club house, games room, kids play area and the indoor and outdoor gyms. The commercial area will comprise a food court, retail outlets, wellness services and selected office spaces.
