The company entered the industry, filling the void created by the high demand for construction activities while working alongside some of the leading construction companies of the world, thus gaining valuable exposure and acquiring construction management skills, which were utilised for the benefit of the domestic industry.
As a construction company in Sri Lanka, Maga Engineering has made a significant mark as a developer of national infrastructure. The company has completed over 400 multidisciplinary projects ranging from buildings, roads and bridges, to water supply and marine structures in both Sri Lanka and overseas. Over the last 30 years, the company has served the key market segments of healthcare, education, highways, trade, information technology, real estate, agriculture, ports and water supply and drainage, in both public and private sectors.

The company’s quality focus is manifested in winning a record of 71 National Construction awards within 20 years, as well as being recognised as the leader of the Construction and Engineering sector by the National Chamber of Commerce for six consecutive years.
Especially during the post war era, the company has continued to lend a hand in the infrastructure development in Sri Lanka, recently delivering projects of significant national importance such as, the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, Point Pedro Water Supply Scheme, A-9, A-32, A-35, 158km Matara-Wellawaya Road and 78km Siyambalanduwa-Pottuvil Akkaraipattu Road and the Greater Kandy Water Supply Project.
Maga Engineering’s workforce, which the company defines as its most valuable asset consists of over 14,000 employees. The company encompasses a highly experienced group of construction project managers, consisting of over 60 senior project managers and 350 engineers in the field of civil, mechanical, electrical, materials, mining and earth resources engineering.
Sustainable development has been at the core for Maga Engineering since inception and has been embedded throughout the company and its operations. The company is one of the first private companies in Sri Lanka to publish its performance in a dedicated Sustainability Report as per the guidelines of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
