Hyatt International South West Asia, affiliated to Hyatt Hotels Corporation entered into a management agreement with Sinolanka Hotels and Spa in Sri Lanka to manage the Hyatt Regency hotel proposed to be constructed in Colombo. The exchange of the agreement between the two parties was held at Temple Trees under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Gamini Senerath, Chairman and Piyadasa Kudabalage, Managing Director of Sinolanka Hotels and Spa signed the agreement with Peter Fulton Group President, Hyatt Hotels-Europe, Africa, Middle East, and South West Asia.
Hyatt Regency Colombo will be a 42-floor hotel on Galle Road expected to be opened in 2014. The hotel is to comprise of 475 guest rooms and 84 serviced apartments, as well as a lobby lounge, an all-day dining, multi-cuisine restaurant, three specialty restaurants, a bar, eight spa treatment rooms, a fitness centre, a swimming pool, and a Regency Club lounge. The hotel will also offer more than 17,000 sqft of enclosed meeting space, including a 7,500 sqft ballroom.
