Singapore based Gleneagles International has launched a Rs 1.6 billion project to set up a 400 — bed modern hospital in Colombo.
The hospital will be linked to the Gleneagles International chain of hospitals who also run hospitals in Malaysia, China and UK.
The hospital will be fully equipped for Cardiothoracic Surgery and General Surgery.
There will be a specialised ophthalmology and Eye Surgical Unit, up-to-Date imaging facilities including CT scan and Angiography, state-of-the-art laboratories for complete diagnosis, histopathology and cytogenetics.
The recent expansion to this region, is part of the overall strategy of Parkway Holdings, the owning company of the Gleneagles Hospitals, to expand their interest in the Health care sector.
The Colombo hospital will be linked via satellite to Gleneagles Singapore and with the John Hopkins University Hospital of USA.
