Prince Richard, the Duke of Gloucester, visited Sri Lanka to attend the opening ceremony of the new British High Commission bldg at Baudhaloka Mawatha and paid a courtesy call at the Galle Face Hotel, especially to view the car which was once owned by Prince Phillip and later bought by the late Chairman Cyril Gardiner in 1956, which is now displayed at the Regency Museum of the hotel. Rajiv Khanna, Director / General Manager, Galle Face Hotel, was on hand to welcome the British royal. Dr Peter Hays, British High Commissioner in Sri Lanka, and other delegates of the British High Commission Office accompanied the Duke.
