Euro Motors recently introduced its award winning range of vibrantly coloured diesel cars – the Fiat Grande Punto, Fiat Doblo and Fiat Bravo, exclusively for permit holders.
Permit holders who are now eligible to purchase the diesel version of the Grande Punto now have the advantage of enjoying an increased fuel efficiency and enhanced performance due to the 1.3 litre MultiJet technology found in this vehicle.
This MultiJet technology divides the main injection into several smaller parts, so as to achieve quieter combustion, reduce emissions and increased performance. It was FIAT that invented this technology, which is yet to be introduced into other car brands. The innovative 1.3 litre diesel engine, was recently a winner of the prestigious ‘International Engine of the Year 2005 (1-1.4 litre category) award.
The engine also provides for a significant reduction in start-up time, exhaust smoke and fuel consumption. At the same time, noise levels and vibrations are lowered to ensure a quieter drive and improved passenger comfort with emissions also greatly reduced. The 1.3 16v MultiJet turbodiesels also now incorporates a maintenance-free Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).
FIAT permit holders in Sri Lanka will also gain an extra advantage, since the cars sold in this market are tropicalised to better suit Sri Lanka’s environment. In fact, the car’s body is galvanised to make it rust free with the cooling system and body interiors similarly adapted for improved protection.
Another important advantage is that, again based on comparative testing with other diesel engines, FIAT diesel mileage has been recorded in the urban cycle as getting 100 km for 3.9 litres. Adding a further bonus feature is FIAT’s unique dualogic technologies, which allow drivers an added convenience, as they can now switch from manual to automatic gear selection mode without hindering engine performance.
