Taking up the role of country manager will be Kumar de Silva who has re-established the airline’s office in Colombo and will oversee its operations in Sri Lanka.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways Chief Commercial Officer expressed his views on reconnecting with Sri Lanka. “Etihad Airways is confident that with the end of the civil conflict in Sri Lanka, tourist traffic in particular will increase in the coming months. We have enormous opportunity to make a real contribution to the growth of trade and tourism as Sri Lanka re-establishes its position in the global arena,” he said.
