National Savings Bank (NSB) has introduced a mobile app under the ‘NSB Pay App’ brand name. The app’s official launch was held with the initiation of Namal Rajapakse, Minister of Youth & Sports and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development at the Head Office of the Bank. Dharmashri Kumarathunga, Director of the Payment and Settlement Department of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Viyani Gunathilleka, Commissioner of the Department of Registration of Persons, Keasila Jayawardena, Chairperson of NSB, Ajith Peiris, General Manager/CEO and the members of the Senior Management of the Bank were also present at the occasion.
The NSB Pay App can be downloaded from Android or Apple smartphones. The main object of introducing this app is to encourage the customers to accomplish their daily banking needs quickly and safely within seconds. Upon verifying your identity by following several simple steps, you can instantly connect your savings account to the app downloaded to your mobile phone.
Wherever you are, the app enables you to carry out banking quickly and safely throughout the day and on any day of the year. The customers who already use NSB e-connect internet banking facility for their banking needs will find the app a familiar experience.
he facilities provided by the app include deposits, fund transfers to any other account at the Bank, fund transfers to another account at another bank, payment of loan installments relevant to the loans obtained from the Bank, payment of bills, payments under QR Code, instant connection with the call center and many more.
Namal Rajapakse, Minister of Youth & Sports and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development, stated that the Government had paid attention to the digitalization of public institutions to increase the efficiency of the public sector. This type of initiative constantly strengthens the Government’s policy regarding digitalization.
Ajith Peiris, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of NSB, stated that since maintaining social distance is essential in the backdrop of the pandemic, digital solutions help us continue our daily routines while following such healthcare safety measures.
