The Realty Plaza, Ja-Ela, a joint development project of Ceylinco Seylan Development and Ceylinco Investment and Realty, subsidiaries of Ceylinco Consolidated was opened recently.
Sanka Wijesinghe, Deputy Chairman, Ceylinco International Realty Group (CIR), declared the shopping complex open.
The Ja-Ela Realty Plaza is a three-storey building, constructed at a cost of Rs485 mn and is built on 1.27 acres of land. It consists of 170 shops, which include O&D, Stone ‘N’ String and Mallika Hemachandra Jewellers among others. It was designed by D2 Creator Tects and constructed by Nawaloka Construction Company within 18 months.
The Nawala Realty Plaza will be the next large joint development project of Ceylinco Seylan Development and Ceylinco Investment and Realty and will be constructed in Nawala on 139 perches of land. This will be a Board of Investment (BOI) project with Rs2-3 bn in local investments. M/S Design Group Five International have been appointed as the Design Consultants for the project.
The project will be executed in two phases commencing the end of 2007, with the first phase comprising of 116 individual shops, a food court, a 400 seater capacity high tech duplex cinema among others. The apartments under construction will be from the sixth floor upwards. The total height of the building is 18 floors.
