
The Bank of Ceylon (BOC) was honored with the Gold Award in the State Bank category at the TAGS Awards 2024, organized by CA Sri Lanka. This recognition was based on its exemplary 2023 Annual Report “A Force of Strength”. The awards ceremony with the participation of Tetsuya Yamada, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as the Chief Guest, and Senior Prof. D.B.P.H Dissabandara, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, as Guest of Honour. Ruwan Kumara, Chief Financial Officer, and several senior officials accepted the awards on behalf of BOC.

This year’s award ceremony was themed “The Digital Edge – Enriching Corporate Reporting Excellence,” emphasizing the importance of innovation and adherence to the highest standards in financial and non-financial reporting. The TAGS Awards aim to foster corporate best practices by encouraging transparency, enhancing stakeholder communication through well-structured annual reports, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLFRS). As a recipient of this award, BOC exemplifies these values by adopting global best practices in its reporting framework.
