The Commercial Bank set up a fully-equipped and furnished IT lab at the School of Artillery of the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) Regiment at Minneriya, the 181st such IT Lab donated under a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to raise national computer literacy levels.
This donation was made with the objective of introducing ICT courses to improve the soft skills of students of the school, which conducts training programmes for around 750 officers, other ranks of the Artillery Regiment, and special operations teams such as Commandos and Special Forces, including infantry troops
The IT lab was set up by the Bank in two of the classrooms dedicated to IT-related courses, and comprises ten computers, a printer, and tables, chairs as well as electrical and networking systems.
