People’s Leasing and Finance Al-Safa Islamic Finance achieved a historic milestone by winning the “Islamic Finance Entity of the Year – Gold Award” at the Sri Lanka Islamic Banking and Finance Industry (SLIBFI) Awards 2025/26, emerging as the country’s leading Islamic finance institution among banks and non-banking financial institutions.
This marks the first time PLC Al-Safa has secured the industry’s highest entity-level recognition. The award recognizes excellence in business growth, innovation, governance, customer service, Shari’ah-compliant operations, and contribution to the development of Islamic finance.
Further strengthening its leadership, PLC Al-Safa won Gold Awards for “Islamic Finance NBFI of the Year” and “Islamic Finance Window/Unit of the Year.” Overall, the organization secured eight prestigious awards across entity, branch, and individual categories. The Puttalam Al-Safa Branch also won Gold for “Islamic Finance Branch of the Year,” continuing its impressive record as a consecutive winner.
These achievements reflect PLC Al-Safa’s transformation through strategic leadership, innovation, operational excellence, and customer-centric financial solutions. With over two decades of service, Al-Safa continues expanding access to ethical and inclusive finance across Sri Lanka.
