During a high-level bilateral talk held in Beijing, the Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang expressed his assurance to assist Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring process continuously and help it to develop its economy. Prime Minister Li Qiang appreciated Sri Lanka’s economic progress after a period of downside and thanked Sri Lanka for consistently following the ‘One China’ policy and supporting China at international forums. Premier Li Qiang also mentioned that his country would provide assistance to develop Katunayake International Airport, Hambantota Port, and Colombo Port City. In response, Sri Lanka expressed its gratitude to China for standing for its independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty and for helping it during international political issues and economic problems. PM Dinesh Gunawardena thanked the Chinese government for their support and acknowledged that he and his family continuously worked for strengthening friendship between China and Sri Lanka.
