Hutchison Telecommunication Lanka and Sierra Global Network have entered into a second contract, to set up and manage international roaming on behalf of Hutch, after successful completion of a one year trial period.
After Sierra Global set up a managed services team within the Hutch head office, Hutch’s international roaming functions began in March 2007. With the successes achieved by the Sierra Global team, Hutch decided to enter into a five year managed services contract. At present Hutch only offers in-bound roaming.
International roaming in a mobile network is considered a very important value added service and is a high revenue generating product in the mobile industry.
