Aseminar titled, “ICT For A Better Tomorrow”, aimed at promoting ICT usage among students in the Southern Province and exposing them to the current ICT developments as well as transferring knowledge to ICT teachers and school children in the area was held with the presence of Minister Chamal Rajapaksa who was the Chief Guest for the event. The seminar was conducted by the Rajapaksa ICT Associates’ Guild (RICTAG), where there are many IT professionals and undergraduates contributing towards development of ICT in the Southern Province.
The Seminar, which was attended by over 700 participants, included lectures on ICT and its future opportunities for students of Hambanthota District. The official web site of the Weeraketiya Rajapaksa Central College was also launched during the event by Minister Chamal Rajapaksa.
Minister Chamal Rajapaksa delivered a speech on the current developments of ICT in Sri Lanka. Ranjith G Rubasinghe, CEO, Sri Lanka Telecom Manpower Solutions as well as the Chairman RICTAG also spoke at the event. The event featured entertainment acts presented by the students of Weeraketiya Rajapaksa Central College.
