Sri Lanka for the first time participated in an international automobile trade fair held in Bangkok, in May. Ten companies promoted their products at the fair, which were mainly rubber-based automotive components.
There were a lot of positive enquiries for Sri Lankan products from countries such as Malaysia. Thailand, Singapore, UAE, Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Europe. The Sri Lankan participation was organised by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) with the German Agency for Technical Co-operation (GTZ).
