The National Savings Bank extended its helping hand to the victims of the past tragic inci- dent in several Catholic church- NSB lends humanitarian aid The officials from NSB presented a donation to His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo to assist the affected victims. Accordingly, on behalf of the entire staff of the Bank, a financial donation was made from the entire funds that was allocated for this year’s Vesak Bhakthi Gee program and other related activities.
This donation was made to His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo.
On behalf of NSB: Jayaraja Chandrasekera, Chairman, Dhammika Nihal Perera, GM/ CEO, Jeevani Gunasekera, President, Buddhist Society of the Bank, Christeen Jesudian, President, Christian Association of the Bank, Lal Karunathilake, DGM–Marketing, Ranjith Gunathilake, Chief Welfare Manager, together with a group of officials representing all the unions took part in the event. Commenting on the occasion, His Eminence Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith stated that it was of paramount importance to help the victims who have suffered economically and mentally due to this incident and appreciated the humanitarian assistance of NSB.
Jayaraja Chandrasekera, the Chairman, stated: “NSB has set an example with regard to inter- religious and inter-personal coexistence, and it was very important to unite for a worthy cause, irrespective of race, reli- gion and party politics.”
