DSL has been appointed the authorised agent for WABCO Antilock Brake System (ABS) for heavy vehicles, as part of its promise to offer solutions for safer Sri Lankan roads.
A spokesman for the auto part dealer based in Sri Lanka said the partnership stays true to the promise of offering quality and safe automobile solutions to local motorists. DSL has imported a wide range of WABCO ABS to fit any model of Indian trucks and buses available in Sri Lanka and also provides installation services.
Manufactured with German Technology, WABCO ABS is a safe and effective braking system that allows the driver to maintain directional stability and control over steering. Drivers lose control of the vehicle when the wheels lock during emergency braking, especially on a slippery road. Therefore, ABS is designed to avoid such incidents, thus helping drivers to steer to safety.
Due to its huge contribution in accident prevention, ABS comes as standard on most vehicles produced today. Recently, the Indian Ministry of Transport recognised the benefits of the system and introduced a mandate making ABS a compulsory device in all heavy vehicles to take effect in 2016.
This latest addition to the company’s portfolio, which includes brands NGK, Exedy, Mitsuboshi, KYB, Meritor and Gabriel, has helped DSL to fortify its presence in Sri Lanka’s automobile solution market.
ABS works with the regular braking system of the vehicle by automatically modulating the air pressure within the brake chamber at each wheel to maintain optimum performance.
