William Lynch, Country Director – Save the Children Sri Lanka said, “Sri Lanka is a best place in the South Asian region, to be a mother and the best place to be child. The woman is more likely to have good health indicators; maternal mortality rate is lowest, by the survivability, and many… Now even in the best place there are children behind, who are working in the tea estates and we know that the indicators for maternal child health are lagging on tea estates. So, we are putting together a programme, which this concert is helping to blow kick off and support, that is going to come up with certification as the only team in Sri Lanka, to produce a mother and child friendly environment.”
