The Sri Lanka-Korea Economic Co-operation Committee (SLKE- CC) of the Ceylon Chamber of commerce is organizing a Business Promotion Mission to Seoul, Korea from August 12 14 1996. Assisting in the organizational aspects are the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Sri Lanka Export Development Board. A high-powered government contingent will also participate. All arrangements in .Korea will be put together by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Korea and the Small and Medium Industry Promotion Corporation, Seoul, Korea.
The prime objectives of this representation are to promote investment from Korea to Sri Lanka, promote trade and services between the two countries and attract tourism from Korea to Sri Lanka.
Profiles of participant’s interests will be forwarded in advance to Korea in order to arrange business meetings with suitable Korean organizations. The participants would also have an opportunity of meeting leading Korean businessmen during the mission. The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka aims to send an official in advance to Korea with the intention of locating suitable collaborations for joint ventures.
Besides the business meetings arranged by the Korean Chamber of Commerce, eight joint meetings between the Sri Lanka-Korea and Korea-Sri Lanka Economic Co-operation Committees hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Soul, Korea will also be held.
