Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), Mobitel and the Ministry of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure, launched the Digital Roadmap project for the Northern Province in the presence of officials and the national media. The Digital Roadmap unveiled SLT Group’s progress towards achieving the national goal of transforming the Northern Province into a digitally empowered region. SLT’s National Digital Roadmap is a large scale ICT infrastructure development project, which is planned to be implemented under the pillars of Smart Government, Smart Security, Smart Health, Smart Building, Smart Utilities, Smart Environment, Smart Transportation and Mobility, Smart Agriculture, Smart Money, Smart Education, Smart Workforce as well as Smart Infrastructure. A large number of projects will beinitiated under each sector with a wider focus on empowering the Government’s smart initiatives together with the industrial landscape while also transforming the lives of the people in the Northern Province by providing them with cutting-edge digital solutions. Sri Lanka Telecom took the lead in planning these initiatives with the support of the Group’s mobile arm Mobitel, PeoTV and other subsidiaries.
