Six board members of the ADB (Asian Development Bank) completed a four-day visit to Sri Lanka recently. Led by Stephen Sedgwick, the delegation included Volker Ducklau, Patrick Pillon, Sein Tin, Pasi Hellman and Choi-Hwi Lee. The visitors met with Mahinda Rajapaksa, President of Sri Lanka, senior government officials, private sector, NGO representatives and other key developments.
Discussing the condition and challenges of cooperation in Sri Lanka, they re-affirmed support for the country’s development and reconstruction efforts. The delegation also visited the tsunami and conflict affected Ampara district to verify progress in reconstruction efforts. In the south, the delegation went to the project site of the Southern Highway to assess its progress.
