JAT Holdings partnered with the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA) at their fourth CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Session. The event was held under the theme, “Global Trends in Architectural Wood Coatings”, and witnessed the participation of more than 100 leading architects.
The event’s highlight was an extensive presentation on Global Wood Finishes by Aelian Gunawardene, the Founder and Managing Director of JAT Holdings. The presentation touched on the importance of choosing the right finish for various products manufactured in wood, whether it is for interior or exterior, using waterbased or solvent-based, transparent or pigmented, matt or gloss coatings, and highlighted the importance of enhancing the beauty of wooden substrates and protecting it against aging, atmospheric agents, and physical and chemical stress, all in an environmentally sustainable manner.
At the event, exhibits of the wood finishes were displayed, and attendees could witness the benefits of JAT Wood Coating Solutions, which are durable and resistant to salt spray, UV rays, and other weather conditions. The presentation focused on different finishes, including, Rustic (Shabby finish), Resin filled finish, Polyester Coatings, Polyurethan coatings, and specific Waterbased coatings for Doors and Windows, Garden Furniture, Exterior Timber Decking, and interior wooden flooring.

Navaratne, FIA (SL), Archt. Damith Premathilake, FIA (SL), former Hon. Treasurer, SLIA, and Wasantha Gunarathne, Director – Sales and Technical- South Asia at JAT Holdings and Aelian Gunawardene.
