Romel Ian Sirikumara, Sommelier of the Hilton Colombo was recently sent on a two week wine training to Australia.
“It was a great opportunity to be in Australia’s vineyards, to have visited Macedorn Range and Yara Valley in Melbourne to go through the process of wine production;’ says Sirikumara. He added that he tasted 80 kinds of wines in different vineyards; Curly flat, Hanging rock among others. The training also required Sirikumara to visit the Boxhill Institute in Melbourne where the best teachers of wine are.
