Tokyo Cement Company Lanka Ltd., will establish a 3.5MW power plant in Trincomalee besides a cement plant. The plant is expected to be operational from September/October, this year. The power plant would cost around Rs. 190 million and according to Tokyo Cement’s Chairman, A.Y.S. Gnanam, the power plant would be both cheaper to operate (as low grade oil will be used) and also Environment-friendly.
