Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) was the principal sponsor and total communications provider for Broadcast Sri Lanka 2008, a multimedia and infotainment technology exhibition and trade fair held at the BMICH.
Leisha De Silva Chandrasena, Chairperson of SLT, said, “We take great pride in partnering this exhibition. Telecommunications began to serve as a support service to the media. What was chiefly restricted to the business-to-business domain has now advanced into the business-to-consumer domain, through satellite television broadcasting to the end consumer. Interactive TV or IPTV, Sri Lanka Telecom’s latest addition to its portfolio, through its broadcasting arm, SLT VisionCom, is one great step towards this convergence in our country. The people of Sri Lanka will be able to enjoy both local and global television services being delivered on the country’s national telecommunications network.”
