Sapugaskanda power plant commissioned

The 40 MW power plant at Sapugaskanda was formally inaugurated by the Minister of Irrigation, Power and Energy, Col. Anuruddha Ratwatte. This power plant is expected to generate about 250 million units of power every year and the total project cost is estimated to be Rs 3507 million. The power plant will start operating from February 1997, according to the contracter Man B & W.
