Dialog Telekom and Cargills (Ceylon) Limited have entered a landmark partnership. The agreement between the companies allows Dialog customers to pay their phone bills at any Cargills Food City outlet islandwide. This can be conveniently done at the supermarket cashier counter when the customer is about to pay for their groceries.
Nushad Perera, General Manager of Sales & Marketing, Dialog Telekom, commented, “We have always been dedicated to the convenience of our customers. We are proud of this partnership with Cargills not just because it’s a first of its kind in the industry but also because it is such an added convenience and service to our customers. With the ‘Pay Your Dialog Bill On Your Way Home’ service, customers can check paying their mobile bill off their list at the same time as they check off their weekly bread and eggs.”
A spokesperson for Cargills said, “Just like. Dialog Telekom, Cargills has islandwide coverage so we feel that this is definitely a mutually beneficial partnership. We are excited to be part of this pioneering service. The mergers between telecommunications and other industries are growing and we are the only supermarket chain to provide such a service. We are confident that it will be a tremendous success and will be well received by our clientele.”
This service has been made possible by the introduction of a receipting system and connectivity via a VPN link established between the Cargills Head Office and the CBBS servers at Dialog Telekom. Phone bill payments will be communicated to Dialog on an online realtime basis and a receipt will be generated. Auto reconnection facilities are also available for customers who meet their settlement requirements.
