According to the Sri Lanka Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SLBCCI), the initiatives to strengthen Dhaka, Bangladesh as a strong trade and cultural delegation from Bangladesh to Sri Lanka has reinforced long-established bonds between the two countries.
Bangladeshi businessmen and other professionals, along with visitors from 75 countries and 100 Sri Lankan entrepreneurs, participated in deliberations at the concluded International Buyer/Seller Meet (BSM 2010).
Harikesha Wijesekera, President, SLBCCI, spearheaded and facilitated the participation of the Bangladesh delegation to BSM 2010, in Colombo. Highlights of Bangladesh’s involvement in the Expo of Sri Lanka’s investment opportunities are the former’s ‘Deshi Colours’ (Fashion Show) and Journey to Peace, a solo painting exhibition by an acclaimed exponent of Bangladesh tribal art.
BSM 2010 is the inaugural, trade and investment promo hosted by the 171-year-old Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and supported by the Sri Lanka Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of Commerce, EDB, BOI and TDA (Tourism Development Authority). BSM 2010’s principal goals are an establishment of new, global links, expansion of existing contacts, and generally facilitating business partnerships worldwide.
