Singer Sri Lanka, has introduced water filters to the local market-the Singer Ultra Clean Water Filters, made in the USA and marketed around the world by Singer Corporate, who holds the patents for these products. The water filters will be an economical and effective way of ensuring the purity of water consumed. There are two counter top models, 5,000 gallon capacity and 10,000 gallon capacity models, as well as a faucet water filter.
These water filters reduce 99 percent of all chlorine found in the water, reduce off-tastes and odours and improves water clarity. These counter top water filters can be attached to the tap, and the filtered water boiled if preferred, though it is not necessary. “The purity of the water which comes through the filter is very high. The harmful effects of chlorine are removed, making it clean and pure enough to drink straight off the filter.
However, we in Sri Lanka are accustomed to boiling water prior to consumption and that need not change. “As the filtered water is free of chlorine and other sediments, the boiled water will be far purer and cleaner than if taken directly from the tap”, said Nasser Majeed, Product Manager for the Water filters. The faucet water filter functions in a similar way, reducing the chlorine content by 99% as well as reducing other odour and sediments found in the water. Both the counter top and faucet water filters are ideal for use in homes or small offices.
“These models are best for domestic consumption or in small offices. Users will find these water filters easy to use as well as being efficient and greatly improving the quality of water. “You can see and taste the results immediately”, said Majeed. These water filters have been tested for chlorine reduction by the CISIR in Colombo, and have been found to do its task successfully. The filters have also been tested and certified by other organizations around the globe. A shower unit water filtration sys tem, which is attached directly to the shower is to be introduced soon. This water filter reduces chlorine by 98% and filters up to 30,000 gallons of water. As a no- cleaning, hassle-free, water filter, there can probably be no other to match the Singer Ultra Clean in the local market.
