The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) conducted a very successful Investor Day programme at the Negombo Town Hall recently, in association with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as part of its efforts to broad base the stock market.
The event provided a platform for the general public to gather knowledge in investing in the stock market through a line up of informative events such as seminars covering different aspects of investing in the Stock Market.
Eight Stock Broking firms participated in the event and provided current and new investors with valuable investment advice, facilities to open CDS accounts and detailed instructions on the use of Internet Trading platforms.
This event offered the general public a unique opportunity to meet stockbrokers but also officials of the CSE and SEC. Live stock market information was provided through the CSE website, while stock market related information was provided through the airing of documentaries and distribution of information leaflets for the benefit of students and Teachers.
Over 700 existing and potential investors from the area attended this Investor Day, making it one of the most successful investor days organized by the CSE.
